Mother India (Restaurant)

It has been quoted as being the best Indian food in Scotland, and here at the Glasgow Experience we agree that it is one of the best! It is located in the West end of Glasgow and from the success of this restaurant its sister company mother India cafes was established!

Unlike the mother India café, mother India is more of the traditional concept, with an A La Carte menu. They have dishes to suit everyone from the mildest dishes to the hot and spicy ones as they have healthy options, without a doubt everything that is served is to a great standard!

Bier Halle (Bar)

 

Lover of beer? Then Bier Halle is the place for you! Located on Gordon Street which is literally 2 minute walk from Glasgow station so brilliant location! This place has every beer you could think of from strawberry tasting beer to ones from all across the globe. Your sure to find something to your liking here!

 

 

 

The cosy and classy atmosphere of Bier Halle is another reason why it is great to go to! Wooden seats and low lights really creates a unique sense throughout and also has a great terrace just outside which is great for them sunny days. Sitting with a nice cold pint in the sun ... Bliss!

Nando’s has many locations in Glasgow from the City Centre to Silverburn Shopping Centre. This restaurant chain are open 7 days a week so whether its after a day of shopping or for a birthday meal it is ideal.

Nando’s are famous for their Portuguese flame – grilled peri peri chicken – so when you go try it , it’s delicious

There are many different types of  dishes from burgers to wraps Nando’s have varies dishes  Nando’s cater for children , with a separate children’s menu  so is perfect for a family get together !!

Staff are welcoming and are very helpful guiding you to what dishes are the best!! Restaurant’s have lovely decor and a great atmosphere making you feel relaxed while enjoying beautiful food!!

The Metropolitan (Glasgow Bar and Restaurant)

Another one of Glasgow’s finest bars would be The Metropolitan, in Merchant City. It is very relaxed, chilled and has created a great atmosphere as well as having a great cocktail menu. It is a large bar with a variety of seating and friendly staff. It is a very popular place to go as it creates a great vibe with its natural surroundings.

As most places in Merchant Square you can choose to sit out in the courtyard where they have comfortable sofas and watch the world go by or sit inside the modern looking bar and soak up the atmosphere there instead.

You never know if you choose to give it a visit you might be lucky enough to meet some famous people as this is the kind of classy establishment that local celebrities are attracted to.

O'Couture (Glasgow Bar/Nightclub)

O’ Couture is a bar/ nightclub in Glasgow’s busy City Centre. The bar is found in Sauchiehall Street . The bar serves up food and drinks 7 days a week!!

At night the bar turns into a nightclub with dj’s and events throughout the week!!!

Nico's Bar (Glasgow Bar)

Nico’s, situated on Sauchiehall St across from the Garage is a great place to head for drink! Nico's offers cheap pints, live sport, promos and one heck of a cocktail list. Good music played throughout this ‘smallish’ venue creates a great atmosphere and vibe to be in! There are plenty of places to sit with a HUGE bar so none of this elbow bashing and punch ups that you’ll get in other venues!

 The TV’s on view offer sport for you and your mates to sit and watch while having a good laugh, especially if your mates get you to down a certain drink on show by Nico’s!

This isn’t just your run of the mill shot or ‘vodka mix’ that you can find anywhere, this is a concoction of some of the more lethal spirits that you could possibly put together, IN THE ONE DRINK! The drink consists of a mixture of Vodka, Rum, Gin, Tequila, blue curacuo liquer and lemonade, and for just £4 is super cheap and obviously hits the spot for that ‘night out!’. You are only allowed 3 (recommended rather, Nico’s won’t stop you from having a good time!) in any one visit at Nico’s and is fittingly called, wait for it, the ‘Adios M*therf*cker’. Word of advice, don’t let your mates pressure you in to downing it in under 5 seconds, because you might struggle to stand after it! :/

Bar Square (Glasgow Bar/Restaurant)

If you are looking for a stylish, classy venue that you are guaranteed a good night in, have you tried Bar square?

It is situated in Merchant Square so you have the option of sitting inside and absorbing the atmosphere in the bar or they have also seating in the courtyard looking out into the square so you can get a feeling of the whole square. The square occasionally has events and performances on so you can sit and watch them whilst having a relaxing drink.

The food that is served is brilliant and with the great service that you receive it just makes you wanting to go back. But if it’s not food that you are looking for then going for drinks is also idea. If there is a group of you I would recommend a pitcher of cocktails as they are great value for money and it also means fewer trips to the bar!

The atmosphere that is created  is great and the all the staff help to pull off the overall vibe of a relaxing bar. It is definitely a bar to recommend to your friends and it is great for every occasion.

NOVEMBER BAR

November Café, Bar and Club is a fantastic place for all occasions. This classy and sophisticated is located in the amazing Princes Square on the hustle and bustle of Buchanan Street. The bar itself is located on the rooftop and has beautiful décor and design. Not only is it pretty to look at it also has the best cocktails Glasgow has to offer!  

Looking at this place you would think the prices would be very expensive, however Sundays to Thursdays is £3 cocktails!!! All the better reason to go to have a cheeky wee cocktail after a stressful day at work or after that 1 hour lecture !

November isn't only just open at night it's open for food during the day also! They offer everything from pastas to homemade burgers! So can pop in on a lunch hour or meet with friends for a catch up!

Tingle (Shooter Bar Glasgow)

The best place to start off your night is the best shooter bar in Glasgow, Tingle!! Located on Mitchell Street this is the perfect spot to get your night off to a superb start. The reason as to why it is such a good place to start off with is that they offer free entry to clubs (usually during the week) so even more reason why to go! 

The bar offers not only cheap and cheerful drinks, but they also do the most amazing shots! Some must be carefully chosen however as some of these can cause feelings of dizziness confidence and loudness aka DRUNKNESS! (Especially the Mad Scientist!!)

As you can see they have some wacky and weird shots, the braver you are the better! But don't worry if your not into the hard stuff the nice sounding ones actually are very nice!

It also provides resident DJ's most nights and serves food during the day. The food is great and has a wee bit of everything so Tingle can be enjoyed just as much during the day as well at night!

Walkabout (Bar Glasgow)

Ever just wanted to find a place that you can go for a casual drink and bite to eat? Well you can stop worrying because Walkabout on Renfield street is just that place!

Walkabout states that it is the home of the awesome spirit of Australia and it does not lie as  the food menu is Australian themed and you even have a few Australians working there who are always there to help and give a friendly service.

One of the big selling points of Walkabout to many people is the student discount that you get, you know yourself that when you are a student you are always looking for a good deal and if you are getting something to eat I would highly recommend the chicken schnitzel burger and if you feel that you still have some room the chunky choc fudge cake and ice cream will finish it off just nicely,

The bar really does attract a variety of different people into it, Walkabout is in fact the official student union for Caledonian university but it is also well known for showing football games on their big screen, every is welcome (of course if your over 18).So you don’t look out of place if you just pop in after uni, with its laid back atmosphere, nobody judges you what you look like.

But as the night goes on and the party animals come out and the music is turned up, so you begin to see people a little more dressy and this is great as it creates a great party vibe. If you know that you have got a night out planned you can  book a booth in advance, I mean isn’t it great to think that your walking into a really busy bar and you are guaranteed a seat? Which is certainly not guaranteed on a Friday Saturday night?

Driftwood (Glasgow Bar)

When you see that a bar has drinks from £1 Monday-Sunday, it is hard to say no- isn’t it? You all know that we are talking about Driftwood on Sauchiehall Street.

If you are looking for a quiet drink, then this probably isn’t for you BUT if you are looking for cheap alcohol with friendly bar staff then go join in with the rest of Glasgow and give it a try.

This is definitely the place that you will find people ‘pre-drinking’ before heading out to the clubs and since it is on the busiest part of Sauchiehall street for nightclubs, you often find yourself with free passes to get into the clubs and if you ask the bar staff they will also have passes for the Garage. You really can’t complain!

The music played in Driftwood is current and in the charts, it is always such a lively environment and is always incredibly busy, even more so on a Friday and Saturday night.

Speaking from experience we would highly advise you to book a booth or a table in advance of going so that you get a seat as many people do stand. There are plenty of tables to choose from if you get in their early

Overall if you are looking for a good night, and cheap drink, Driftwood is the place to visit

The Social (Glasgow Bar)

'The Social' Glasgow is located on the Royal Exchange Square. This modern bar offers food , drink and a great nightlife to Glasgow’s City Centre.So after a hard days shopping around Glasgow it is perfect for lunch with your friends. The Social has a wide selection of food to offer along with a cheeky lunch time cocktail if you need it after shopping.

The design of the bar inside makes it welcoming and relaxing especially after a hard days work at the office or having a catch up with friends !!

The Socials night life is great for those who like to have a great time and the party animals that are out there! Most nights there is something on, a night that they host ie VIBE WEEKENDS, which plays the latest house music!

Staff are fantastic , always make you feel welcome and provide a great service both day and night.

Hummingbird (Nightclub/Bar/Kitchen Glasgow)

If it is a stylish, classy and laid back atmosphere you are looking for, then hummingbird is the place to be, located on Bath Street its right in the heart of Glasgow!



It is predominantly known for its sophisticated cocktails, and from Sunday- Wednesday they have a selection of cocktails which they offer half price! Wow!  It's a great place to go after work or for a general catch up with friends.

However party animals, dont panic! If you're looking for more of a party scene then they have the facilities to cater for your needs with different party pods that you can book out. The rooms differ in size can hold between 10- 40 people.

You have the choice of the glitter room, the posh room (that can be used for business meetings), the studio and the mezzanine which overlooks onto the main bar downstairs. Many of the rooms have karaoke and an iPod dock so you can enjoy your own music. The best part of it is that in all the rooms there is a buzzer linked to the bar!

The rooms are free to hire from Sunday- Thursday and you can simply do this online, enquire by phoning or simply pop in and see them.

Hummingbird also serves food and they specialise with gourmet burgers; from Sunday- Friday these are 2 for 1 which is a great deal.

Overall, go to hummingbird, have a bite to eat and chill with a cocktail all for a reasonable price or you can have a party, go wild  and still enjoy yourself as the  night will not  be breaking the bank.

Shanghai Shuffle (Restaurant Karaoke Glasgow)

Glasgow’s Ultimate Karaoke Party Night. Shanghai Shuffle is based in Glasgow's City Centre, 256 Bath Street. It is a Chinese food restaurant with a twist as you have a sing along while you are dinning. Great night out from a works night out to a hen night this is the place to be for a curry karaoke!!

Menu starts at only £18 (can be 2 course or 3 course depending on the day of karaoke party) and is open from Thursday to Sunday with a license until 1am !!!

The party tends to start at 8pm after dinner until 1pm so you have all the time to sing your heart out to your favourite songs!!!
