Mother India (Restaurant)

It has been quoted as being the best Indian food in Scotland, and here at the Glasgow Experience we agree that it is one of the best! It is located in the West end of Glasgow and from the success of this restaurant its sister company mother India cafes was established!

Unlike the mother India café, mother India is more of the traditional concept, with an A La Carte menu. They have dishes to suit everyone from the mildest dishes to the hot and spicy ones as they have healthy options, without a doubt everything that is served is to a great standard!

When you taste the food you can taste that it is fresh which makes you enjoy the taste even more
To ensure that you receive a table at the time you want, you can even book a table through their online reservation system which can be more convenient than trying to phone or even go into the restaurant if you are busy. The restaurant is over 3 floors so there is lots of space for you to be situated; a different atmosphere is created on each floor, so there is something to suit everyone!
If you haven’t tried mother India then the Glasgow experience suggest you do if you, it’s super tasty and you won’t regret it!

Theatre

The Glasgow Experience - Cottiers - Glasgow Restaurant Theatre Bar

The unique aspect of Cottiers is that not many people realise it's a theatre as well! It holds all sorts of productions and holds up to 280 people. Although it's not one of the more well known theatres, Cottiers still provides a fantastic theatrical atmosphere.

Bar

The bar is one of the best hot spots in the west end of Glasgow to meet and also to have drinks before a show! In the summer they also provide a BBQ outside on the terrace which is another added bonus to this fabulous place. The decor of he bar is outstanding and keeps in with the rest of the theme throughout the building. Brilliant place for friends and family.

The Restaurant

The decor of the restaurant is incredible. It has the "church feeling" with old restored chairs from the church and beautiful gold ceilings. Not only is the decor incredible, but the food also! The fresh food produced is delcious and the chefs also provide daily specials to mix things up a bit!

GLAGSOW E-RATING 10/10

Di Maggio's (Glasgow Restaurant)

The Glasgow Experience - Di Maggio's - Glasgow Restaurant

It is a classic Italian restaurant and there are restaurants all around the city but my favourite would be the one in Royal Exchange Square. Di Maggio’s start to cater for a ‘basic food eater’ to an ‘adventurous food lover’- there really is something for everyone. Wither it is for lunch or dinner every time I go I receive the best service and there are always lots of staff working so you never have long to wait for your meal either and they are all very friendly and polite. As you can expect on the weekend it gets busy so I would recommend booking a table but if you haven’t then it is never a long wait to be seated as it is a large restaurant on two floors.
The Glasgow Experience - Di Maggio's - Glasgow Restaurant

Every time I go I have to get one of their delicious pizzas but if pizza isn’t for you then don’t worry as they have got all the other classic Italian dishes including a variety of pasta dishes.

Di Maggio’s can cater for large or small groups of people; they have got booths at the sides of the restaurant and then standard tables within the middle so they can move tables around to cater for larger parties. And speaking from experience even when you are with a large group of people the service you receive is still first class.
The Glasgow Experience - Di Maggio's - Glasgow Restaurant

So if you have never been go and give it a try, it is family friendly and the kids can even get some crayons to colour in with.  I can ensure you that you will not be disappointed and it could even turn into one of the best restaurants you have ever been!

Grand Central Hotel (Glasgow Restaurant/Bar)

The Glasgow Experience - Grand Central Hotel - Glasgow Restaurant Bar

One of the recently renovated hotels in Glasgow is the magnificent Grand Central Hotel. Situated right in the heart of Glasgow next to central station, this gorgeous hotel provides you with everything …

Having a luxury champagne bar (pictured above) to beautiful function rooms and exquisite rooms to stay. (Below)
As you can see, the champagne bar is where the attention is at it in the hotel. The beautiful (and rather big and expensive looking!) chandelier is the main reason behind this. It sets off the place magnificently and makes you feel rather classy, even if you come from the west of Scotland! And of course we cannot forget the important part… the alcohol. They provide every cocktail ever known and have a wide range of champagnes. The only one I knew was obviously the good old Presseco, however for all you fancy champagne lovers out there this is a must visit in Glasgow.

This is a great stay for people who are new to the city due to its great location and has a lot to offer. However it is a brilliant place to just even go and have amazing cocktails and of course some champagne in the champagne bar. With very friendly staff and a glamorous atmosphere this beautiful hotel deserves a GLASGOW-E RATING of 10/10 full marks for this hotspot!

If you are interested in booking a room/function event have a look at their website:

Mother India's Cafe (Glasgow Restaurant)

Mother India's Cafe
The Glasgow Experience - Mother India's Cafe - Glasgow Restaurant

You might be thinking that this is your typical Indian restaurant, but it is even better…

It is always good to try a new dish when you are out, but  having lots of small portions with a variety of different types of food  is even better…yes that’s right, it is a tapaz restaurant!

It is located in the west end of Glasgow on Argyle Street (across from Kelvingrove art museum) and the great thing about Mother India’s café is that if you are not living in Glasgow then they also have a restaurant in Edinburgh!

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, where you can just sit back and enjoy your meal and with the reasonable prices you also do not need to worry about the cost.

There is something for everyone, wither you like hot and spicy or if you like a less fiery dish.

If you don’t fancy dining in you can also get a takeaway and have the comfort of your home to eat all their great dishes in!

Since the restaurant is so popular and is consistently busy, make sure you get in there nice and early, but if they are full, it is never a long wait and the kind staff make sure you are seated promptly!

The restaurant is one of the finalists for Scotland’s best Indian, so If you have never been it is a must to go to!
